  1. I was cleaning and organizing the kitchen this weekend. The spice drawer was hideous. I cleaned the containers but some of the labels didn't survive the scrub.

    Nobody is mad yet, but my thyme is cumin.

  2. We’re serving hamburgers and hot dogs to a group of people who built careers around food. I briefly considered something more sophisticated.

    But frankly, I couldn’t mustard the energy.

  3. I searched for a quick weeknight dinner. The recipe began with a childhood memory, survived three pop-ups, and followed me down the page with a video.

    By the time I found the ingredients, it was breakfast.

  4. I started a sourdough loaf on Saturday. By lunch the starter needed feeding. By dinner it needed reassurance. By Sunday it had opinions about the thermostat.

    I told it we should take a break. I kneaded some space.

  5. I left the butter on the counter to soften. It spent twenty minutes discussing boundaries and how everyone expects too much from it.

    Apparently it’s tired of being spread too thin.

  6. I labeled all the leftovers so we’d stop playing refrigerator roulette. Three days later everything was still there except the lasagna.

    I’m not accusing anyone, but this case has layers.

  7. Portugal is about to force Lisa into a brutal diet of fresh seafood, excellent wine, and pastries made by actual professionals.

    Tonight is her last chance to ketchup with America.
